About the Taree - Saltwater Lagoon Site The town of South West Rocks is located at the entrance of Saltwater Lagoon. Saltwater Lagoon catchment, at 8.9km2, is a popular tourist area with many caravan and camping opportunities. The catchment is predominantly saltwater wetlands; Saltwater Creek is located within a small coastal reserve. The predominant seagrass species is Zostera.
