About the Eurobadalla - Lake Tuross Site

Lake Tuross has an area of 13 km2 and massive catchment of 2150km2. It connects to the Tuross River by many shallow interconnecting channels and lakes. The lake is a popular for recreational fishing and water-skiing.

Lake Tuross (including Tuross River and Borang Lake) has been declared a recreational fishing haven which bans commercial fishing. Local issues include tidal flow barriers blocking fish passage. The lake is a significant oyster producer also. The major seagrass species is of Zostera and Halophila.
