NSW's wind power future hangs in the balance PDF Print E-mail

Right now, the State government is making critically important decisions about the future of wind energy in NSW. It will soon decide on newwind_farm.jpg planning guidelines for wind farms and we need to make sure NSW does not follow Victoria's lead with restrictions on the growth of this important clean industry.

We urgently need to show key cabinet members our strong support for wind energy as a good source of clean, renewable energy. By making a quick call to one of the key decision makers right now, we can make sure they stand strong against the anti-wind fear campaign. Please call all one or all of the politicians listed below (in order of priority). Be prepared to leave a message that will be passed on by staff.

Brad Hazzard, the Planning Minister: (02) 9981 1111
Andrew Stoner, Deputy Premier and head of the Nationals: 02) 6562 6190
Mike Baird, the Treasurer: 02) 9976 2773,
Barry O'Farrell, Premier: 9487 8588

Here are some key messages you might like to use:

  • NSW stands to gain $10.4 billion of new investment from wind power in coming years. Can we really afford to miss this opportunity?
  • Wind power creates regional jobs and economic activity, please don't turn your back on regional Australia.
  • Numerous polls shows high levels of community support for wind power. For most people in NSW, renewable energy just makes sense.
  • Share your personal reasons for supporting wind power and renewable energy in NSW.

Or if you don't have time to call please sign our email action to show your support for wind in NSW:
