Conservation Partners Program (DECC)

  •  Voluntary Conservation Agreements, Permanent legal protection for your property, registered on the property title. This is the highest level of protection, and remains on the land with a change of ownership
  • Wildlife Refuges, Your land is legally declared a wildlife refuge, though you can change its status when required. The status is noted on the land title and remains with a change of ownership.

  •  Incentives and Contracts, to assist landholders in improving natural resource management. (click on the map for your local CMA then look for grants and funding)

Nature Conservation Trust of NSW
  • The Trust has Conservation Covenants and a revolving fund to improve natural resource management on private lands.

Bio-banking Scheme

  • Landowners in NSW who are interested in protecting and conserving biodiversity values on their land may establish a biobank site and generate biodiversity credits. These can be generated by landowners who commit to enhance and protect biodiversity values on their land through a biobanking agreement. Credits may be sold to generate funds for the management of the site.

Carbon Smart

  • Landcare CarbonSMART has been developed in response to a growing demand from landholders and corporates to work together to offset carbon emissions. CarbonSMART was launched in March 2007 and now operates in all states and territories.
