What is LETS?

Local Exchange Trading System (LETS) is a simple non-profit system that allows you to trade services and goods with other local people - without money!

It can be seen as a sort of "green economics" in that it encourages Local trading; it shifts the emphasis from profit to Personal trading based on people's energy and it helps build community networks.

You provide services to other members - anything from fixing a fence to baking a cake or walking the dog. Also goods such as children's toys and clothing. We also have businesses involved ranging from printers, counselors and training organisations.

Members are given a 1000 debit and credit limit of our local currency (called Shells) and can begin trading straight away.

Every month we have a trade day

This is similar to any market except no cash is used.

All members are encouraged to attend the trade days as they are great ways to meet other members and build our community.
